Just another weekend!

We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Saturday we spent the day at the beach. The waves at Jack Beach were too high to actually go in the water, but the water is pretty cold anyways.
The is the new short cut we found on the way to the beach. This mosque was getting painted so Shawn took a photo op here.
This is a local hanut (a small shack with lots of sugar). Shawn's friend Ryan sent us a picture of one in the Dominican Republic and so Shawn took this to show they are similar here too! Something about jacking kids up on pop and candy in different countries is ok......

That's all for now. We are going to visit some friends who live in Fes this weekend so I will post some new pics of that adventure next week.....

Starting our life here in Casa!!

Our First adventure out in Casa!

We arrived in Casablanca on Thursday August 4th (I think that was the date, it's all a blur!). That Saturaday our new friend Carol brought us to one the markets in downtown Casa. It was a little overwhelming at first but everything was so awesome it was hard not to buy everything

These baskets are awesome! I want one or two for every room.....

These are the best olives ever. The Co-Op in Bozeman has nothing on these open bin olives! And they are so cheap, Adah loves then too, double bonus!

We have had quite a couple of weeks. I can't believe it is going to be three weeks tomorrow! We had two weeks of orientation at the school. That was busy and boring all at the same time. It was good though they really helped us with orientating us with Casa and getting around. (Thus it is called orientation!)

The street's of Casa! You are taking your own life in danger if you attempt to drive on the roads here.

It is Ramadan this month (they fast from 4am till 7:30pm) so we have not had the pleasure of eating out since being here. (Everything is closed as to not tempt the tempted) It is really starting to irritate me, I have heard of all the great food here and have not been able to partake at all.
All and all everything is going good. We are planning on going to Fes next week to visit some of our friends from Bozeman. Shawn and Dan will talk VW vans the whole time and I will get to know his wife and four kids! It should be a good time.
Miss everyone.

Our new Home!

We live in Dar Bouazza Morocco. It is right on the ocean. We can sit on our Fousche's (moroccan couch) and look at the ocean, it is awesome! The water is a little colder than we would like but we don't complain.

This is the view from our roof top of our apartment building. We live with three other couples that also work at the school. One couple are from Colorado and the other couple are Moroccan. Hopefully they will help us with our Arabic and French.

Sorry I left you hangin'....

Our trip to Morocco was pretty uneventful, which in mine and Shawn's experience doesn't happen all that often. We had a great time with friends and family in Michigan until we left on the 3rd of August for our new home.
The first couple of days were hard with no sleep, but we all got on track pretty quickly. The first night we all slept 12 hours, haven't done that since high school.
